Your HVAC technician says they're at the client's building. Your construction crew says they're on site. Your delivery driver says they've left the depot. You take their word for it — because there's no way to verify.
GPS attendance in TheCheckIn closes that gap. When a field worker checks in, the app captures their GPS location at that exact moment. You define a geofence around each work location — if they're within it, the check-in goes through. If they're not, it's flagged. No hardware at the site, no phone call needed.

Set up once per location. No hardware to install. Location verified every time.
In the admin dashboard, add each work location — job site, office, depot — as a branch. Set the allowed radius (e.g. 200 metres). Staff assigned to that branch must check in from within that zone. Takes 2 minutes per location to configure.
When the field worker arrives at the site, they open the app and tap Check In. The app reads their GPS location at that moment. If they're within the geofence, the check-in is recorded. If they're outside it, the check-in is blocked or flagged.
The exact GPS coordinates at check-in and check-out are stored with the attendance record. You can see where each person was on a map. If a worker's coordinates don't match the expected site, it's visible immediately — not discovered weeks later.
See which field workers have checked in at each site, their arrival times, and any out-of-zone alerts — all from your phone. At month end, timesheets with hours per site are ready for payroll, broken down by location.
When a client says your technician arrived late and your technician says they were on time, GPS solves the dispute immediately. The check-in timestamp and coordinates are a permanent record. Neither party's memory is needed — the data is there.
Field teams can't take a biometric machine or a QR code placard to every job site. GPS attendance works anywhere — the phone already in the worker's pocket is the attendance terminal. No infrastructure needed at the site at all.
A technician who visits 3 sites in one day checks in and out at each one. Their total attendance record shows which site, how long, and what time — broken down per location. Client billing based on hours on-site becomes straightforward.
TheCheckIn reads GPS only when a check-in or check-out happens — not continuously. The location read takes less than a second. The app does not run in the background or drain the phone battery during the workday.
