ERPNext's default attendance module works. But if you need face recognition, GPS check-in, or custom approval workflows that match how your business actually runs — that requires real customisation.
We've done it. TheCheckIn is our own product — a face recognition attendance app built specifically to integrate with ERPNext. We didn't just connect two systems. We built one of them.
That means Pazhanam knows ERPNext's data model, Frappe's framework, and how attendance flows through to payroll — not from reading the docs, but from shipping a live product that thousands of employees use every day.

Before taking a customisation brief, we built our own ERPNext integration from scratch. Here's what that involved — because it tells you what we can build for you.
We built a mobile app with on-device face matching and liveness detection (eye blink), then connected it to ERPNext's HR Attendance module via API. That required custom doctype fields, custom scripts, and careful handling of Frappe's permission model.
Field employees check in with GPS. Each branch has a geofence. TheCheckIn validates whether the employee is within range of the registered site before accepting the check-in — and logs the exact coordinates. This feeds into custom branch-level reports in ERPNext.
TheCheckIn generates daily, weekly, and monthly timesheets from raw check-in and check-out data. We built the calculation logic, late/early detection, overtime flagging, and an export format that maps cleanly to ERPNext payroll inputs.
If you have specific requirements that the standard ERPNext setup doesn't cover, these are the types of projects we work on:
TheCheckIn integration setup
Connect TheCheckIn face recognition attendance to your existing ERPNext instance — including custom field mapping, automated sync, and user permission setup.
Custom attendance approval workflows
Multi-level approval chains, department-specific workflows, or attendance regularisation flows that your current ERPNext setup doesn't support.
Custom shift and roster management
Night shifts, rotating shifts, multiple shifts per day, or department-specific shift rules — configured in ERPNext and connected to TheCheckIn's check-in data.
Custom attendance and HR reports
Custom ERPNext reports for attendance by site, department-level summary, late-comer tracking, overtime reports, or any other view your management team needs.
Custom Frappe apps and modules
New functionality that doesn't fit in the standard ERPNext doctypes — built as proper Frappe apps with full framework support, versioning, and upgrade compatibility.
Tell us what you're trying to do. We'll be honest about whether TheCheckIn covers it directly, or whether a custom build makes sense.

We're not going to oversell you. Tell us your setup and what's not working — we'll tell you if TheCheckIn handles it or if a custom build makes more sense.
